The Country rocker Ben Gallaher is back with a bang. His brand new EP Bullet, Today via Stone Country Records is a persistent collection that researches the topics of love, resilience and life on the open street. With over 28 million streams since his debut 2023 Land in the house, Gallaher cements its status as an increasing force in country music.

The five-trail contains the electrifying title track “Bullet”, the gravel hymn “Dirt Ones” and the introspective “errors” as well as two previously published tracks: “A little can not” and a loyal cover of Bryan Adam’s classic classic “cuts like a knife”.

I got Gallaher to dive into the stories behind it Bullet, His approach to cover legendary songs and what fans can expect next.

Write a song with deep personal meaning

The title track of the EP has a special meaning for Gallaher, who wrote “Bullet” with Chris August, Kelley Lovelace and Neil Thrasher and was written about his wife Monica. “Bullet is one of my favorite songs that I have ever written. And on my last project I had a song called” Roots Grow Down “, which I also wrote for you. And so this project, BulletI wrote for you. And when we had River, who was now eight months, this song made a completely new meaning. “

The powerful guitar riffs of the song and the sweeping 6/8 rhythm build on a basis of deep emotions and create a track that is both a rock ballad and a warm promise.

    The creative process behind “Bullet”

Gallaher remembers the magic of the Songwriting meeting that brought “Bullet” to life. They had just met in the writing room and looked for the right concept when the idea for “Bullet” appeared. He mentioned his long-term appreciation for one-word title and how she unexpectedly transformed it into a love song that he thought was a positive surprise. He described the entire process of a simple language memo to a complete band recording as incredible. Gallaher knew immediately that it was something special, but during the recording process he really felt that the song landed exactly as it should.

“So this song has a very special place in my heart, and I mean, so we named the EP ball,” he said.

Covering of a classic: “cuts like a knife”

Covering Bryan Adams’ “Cuts Like a Messer” was both a tribute and an allusion to the timeless sound of rock from the 80s. He explained that if a song is so iconic, they don’t want to do too much with it. “I mean, I have my stamp on it, but we did not move too far from the original. Consistent. This song was really a tribute and an allusion to a timeless era of music.”

He said it was really cool to see the reactions of people who grew up with this song and experienced a feeling of nostalgia. But he also found it astonishing to present a younger generation that it might have never heard before, in a great era of music. He added that it was great to make the whole lot live.
