At a time when most Youtuber growth pursue at all costs, the Creator of Outdoor Boys Luke Nichols goes at the climax of the explosive increase in his canal.
The channel has won around 12 million subscribers in the past 18 months. But instead of benefiting from this swing, Nichols resigns and quotes the tribute that his family applies.
“Due to people who steal my content and publish on other platforms, my family and I were viewed about 4 billion times in addition to the 2.8 billion views on YouTube,” says Nichols in his Goodbye video. “The mere amount of fans who try to contact me, take photos with me or just talk to me in public, it can sometimes be a bit overwhelming.”
What makes Nichols so unusual is how strong it directed against the current of the influencer culture, where visibility and virality are. A study by the Interactive Advertising Bureau showed that the Creator jobs rose 7.5 times in four years, which made the sector to the fastest growing driver of the US DIB worth $ 4.9 trillion.

However, the costs of this attention become too high for Nichols and his wife.
“My wife and I – we both have real concerns about what this will do with our family if I keep growing my YouTube channel at this pace,” he explains. “And the time to stop before this problem gets out of control so that my family and I cannot live a normal life.”
He will not upload to the channel for a while, although he mentioned the possibility of a “big dump” of videos with unfinished projects when he ends them. In the meantime, however, Nichols says that it is time for him to continue so that he can help his children realize their dreams.
The reaction of the fans on social media was overwhelming and was filled with support for his decision and the sadness of his departure.
