2025 ACM Entertainer of the Year, Lainey Wilson
That was a great show! I hope you all had the opportunity to see the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards Show tonight. The opening set was great. We heard Reba, Clint Black, Wynonna, Leann Rimes, Little Big Town and Dan + Shay. They brought us a few hits from the past six decades. From “Okie von Muskogee” to “Taquila” it was a great opening. One of the best in years.
A few awards jumped up all night like the Alan Jackson Lifetime Achievement Award. The recipient – Alan Jackson. I think this was the first year, so very reasonable that it went to the person after whom it was named. Keith Urban received the ACM Triple Crown Award. I am pretty sure that I missed at least another special award/honor.
Was I disappointed by one of the winners? Yes. I am not sure how Brooks & Dunn won the group of the year. What did you do this year, apart from the fact that you have re -published “Beliear” with Jelly Roll? Rascal Flats did something this year, except that they come back together. How did you win, with a group that is not even nominated as great as Parmalee! And then there are the red Tonstreuner. You are a good group, no question. But I really can’t imagine that you have a larger fan base as a restless street. I love absolutely everything that is restless. Somehow surprised that you didn’t win this victory … but happy that you were recognized with a nomination. But if you find that Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood were not even nominated in large categories, it may be a little easier to understand.
