After an outstanding first day of the ATX TV festival, we hoped that the second day would not be disappointed. And it was definitely not! From a surprising appearance with James van der Beek to a Schleicher of reviving the King of the Hill, the best moments from the second ATX TV Festival Day are here.
Day 2 at the ATX TV Festival
We have abolished things with the cast and the creator of Upload. Showrunner Greg Daniels joined Kevin Bigley and Zainab Johnson for a funny and thought -out panel, which gave us a look behind the scenes of the making of the show.
One of the best parts: Greg shared the moment that triggered the entire concept. Years ago, his son asked if he could have real money to buy something in a virtual world. This question issued a chain reaction in Greg’s head. What would it mean to upload your consciousness? How would love and money work in a digital life after death? This spark finally became the Amazon Prime series Upload.
Nest Up came the true heart moment of the day.
Kevin Williamson think about everything
The mastermind behind it Dawson’s CreekPresent Scream And the Vampire Diaries gave a complete retrospective of his career. He spoke about his early writing, the rise of teenage and the emotional layers behind the fear in his horror work. It was very powerful.
The highlight of this panel was the surprising appearance of the inhabitant living in Austin in the James van der Beek region. It was his first big public appearance since dealing with serious health problems. He looks great! He smiled and radiated warmth when he told stories that brought us back to the stream. One of the best was when he spoke about the audition of Dawson’s role. He thought he had no chance and he almost skipped the audition due to his age. But his roommate encouraged him to go and the rest is history. Watch how he tells the story here.
King of the Hill returns
The big draw of the night was a first look at the King of the Hill Resuscitation. The fans came from near and far to celebrate Hank, Bobb and the whole gang. The Sachstus members Pamela Adlon, Lauren Tom and Toby Huss joined the co-creator Mike Judge and Greg Daniels on stage. After that, everyone had to celebrate together, what a large BBQ in Texas.
