The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will complete their 94th edition with a special concert in full length of Texas and Country Music Powerhouse Cody Johnson on Sunday, March 22, 2026. Johnson only becomes the second artist in the history of Rodeohouston history to lead a concert-only performance.
“Over the years, Cody has become part of our beloved tradition of a thousand until after the year until it was recorded by Rodeohouston’s official brand anthem,” said Chris Boleman, President and CEO of Rodeo. “We are enthusiastic that he is honored just as we want to return in 2026.”
A long -time Rodeo favorite returns
Cody Johnson, known for his traditional Country Sound and Electrifyfy Stage Presence, performed five times at Rodeohouston, including 2017, 2019, 2019, 2022 and 2023. Welcome to the showwas specially written and recorded as the official title song of the Rodeo.
Over the years, Johnson has built up a loyal followers near Rodeohouston. His ideas of 2022 and 2023 attracted more than 70,500 and 73,000 fans. In 2024 he surprised the guests with an unexpected appearance during the Jelly Roll show.
A career on flames
Johnson’s momentum has not slowed down. Often referred to as the “future of real country music”, he continues to earn critical recognition and recognition of the industry. His awards include:
- 2025 ACM song of the year for “Dirt Billy”
- CMT artist of the year
- Three CMT Music Awards
- Four CMA Awards, including the album of the year in 2024
- The best new country artist from iheart Music Awards in 2023

Cody Johnson’s appearance marks the fourth concert in the history of Rodeo and the first since George Strait the season 2022. While the Rodeohouston Super Series is completed on Saturday, March 21st, guests can enjoy a full day full of activities on Sunday, including:

- Champion Wine Garden, presented by Frost
- Agenture, presented by Oxy
- Shopping and eating in the NRG Center
