Moulin Rouge strikes a chord with music lovers in Austin

If you can take the time to see Moulin Rouge in Austin on stage, you have a rough time. We promise! If you play in the Bass Concert Hall on May 24th, you can expect what you can expect from the performance of the eyes!

Moulin Rouge! The musical is now playing in Austin

The show begins exactly as you expect. A dazzling light representation sets the background, while four of the club’s best belts compensate for the texts to the notorious hit “Lady Marmalade”. If you hope to follow the song selection throughout the show, the Playbill lacks this page. This is because there are so many assembly of popular music that deals with the performance that they could impossible to list them. Just know that you will hear dozens of melodies you know and love.

However, the best performance is the songs that were specially written to support this story. “Come What May”, the original song from the film is the highlight, although the special arrangement by Elton John’s “Your Song” is also great. With regard to Satine, the main role in the musical (and the best performer of this line -up), she has many outstanding achievements, in particular her opening number “Sparkling Diamonds”, which a medley from “Diamonds are a best friend of girls” (Marilyn Monroe) and “Material Girl” (Madonna).

Now let’s talk about what really brings this show to the shine – the sets and the lighting design! Even in the moments when the show falls flat, the aesthetics make up for it again. It is really a dazzling show that captivates all of her senses. Well, maybe don’t smell – although you should add that!

One to one with an actor

We spoke to actor Kaitlin Mesh, who gives her national tour debut as a Nini. Kaitlin appears on Broadway with Moulin Rouge The Musical as the original Broadway Company member (OBC U/S Nini) after almost six years. While she has never been to Austin, she is looking forward to authentic Mexican cuisine (Read Texmex) and finds out what makes Austin too “strange”.

Of course, we couldn’t give the chance to ask them for the show. “It’s hard to choose one,” she said. “But the music and choreography are certainly at the top of my list!”

We could no longer agree. Don’t miss your chance to see this hit musical in Austin. Tickets are available here.
