I won’t lie. I thought I knew exactly what I was going Annie. It is a story about a sweet orphan, a hard life and a little “morning” in which we all let go home.
But this show? It surprised me.
What to expect with Annie In the bass concert hall
First let’s talk about the energy. As soon as the lights appear, these children swing out. “It’s a hard knock life” hit hard – in the best way. It’s hot, cheeky and so synchronous. This is the type of number that the audience looks a little straight.
And then there is Annie himself. Whoever was this role Exactly What they did. The voice, the timing, self -confidence … she wears this level like a professional. Hazel bird is a total outstanding.
Well, the song that completely surprised me: “NYC” I didn’t expect to love it, but I did it. It’s full of Broadway radio. The song is quick, happy and somehow gives the feeling of standing on a corner in Midtown with a hot dog and big dreams.
Next: “Tomorrow. The performance of this best known song is as pretty and goosebumps as you hope.
The set creates it on point and the costumes have just enough sparkle. The whole show has the perfect balance between vintage charm and modern energy.
Oh and one more thing. The Dog! Yes, Sandy appears, steals the scene and leaves like a real star. No notes.
